Non-Residents - Tax Incentives Program


The Non-Resident Tax Regime was introduced by the Portuguese Government in 2009. The main objective is to attract potential buyers and their families to become non-habitual tax residents in Portugal, in exchange for a reduction in personal taxation.


Wages, dividends, pensions and investment income may be subject to a beneficial tax in Portugal and exempt from taxes in the country of origin of the applicants. In some cases, there may be a total tax exemption both in Portugal and in the country of origin.


The main requirement is to become a Non-Resident Portuguese Resident. The tax benefits are guaranteed for 10 years.


Golden Visa Program


Simple investment - acquisition of real estate over € 500,000
All kind of properties are suitable (commercial, residential, buildings, land, etc.)
You can buy several properties, with a minimum investment of € 500,000
Possibility of joint ownership
There is no owner limit or use of the property
General requirement - Investments held for a minimum period of 5 years.
Residence permit granted for an initial period of one year and renewed for two periods of two years.
Minimum stay in Portugal - 7 days in the first year and 14 days after the two year period
There is the possibility of permanent residence after 5 years and a Portuguese passport 6 years
After the acquisition of Golden Visa investors can travel freely in the Schengen area
